Satechi Bluetooth Button Set Review - Media, Home, and Shutter Buttons

Satechi Bluetooth Button Set Review - Media, Home, and
Shutter Buttons

When I was first asked if I would be interested in reviewing
these Bluetooth buttons from Satechi, I wasn't sure how or why I would use
them. But after I received the three of them, I was like, "WOW"! How
did I live without them!

A lot of thought and design went into each one of these
three products.

There are three separate buttons (each sold separately from
Satechi). One is a "Home" button, one is a "Shutter"
button, and the last one is a media controller. Each button comes nicely
packed. Each comes with a plastic "ring" where you can place your
Bluetooth button, and the ring can be placed on your cars steering wheel. It
also comes with a small piece of double stick tape, so you can mount anywhere.
There is also a small lanyard if you want to use this on a key chain. Each
button is finished in aluminum, and comes with a replaceable penlight battery.
They literature claims two years use with the included battery.

Here is the main use of these (as I see it)... I have a car
that does not have Bluetooth functionality built in. I do sometimes listen to
Spotify fro my phone in the car. I mounted the media control button on my
steering wheel, and I now have incredibly easy (and safe) control of my music.

MEDIA BUTTON:
This Bluetooth button can pause/play, skip forward or back,
and raise or lower the volume of your device. I tested it with Spotify on my
Android Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It worked without a hitch. The button had the
most use out of the box. I used this also with my phone while watching a movies
that I was streaming to my Google Chromecast! So much easier with this button
to control my device.

HOME BUTTON:
This Bluetooth button has one function... but it's an
important one: No matter what app you are in, hitting this button will bring
your device back to its home screen. In the Android environment... pushing and
holding this button will open up Google Now, which allows voice control. Again,
very important while driving, and keeping your hands off your device.

SHUTTER BUTTON:
This Bluetooth device triggers your phones camera shutter
remotely. On my Android 4.4.4 device, this Bluetooth button would not work with
the native Samsung camera app, but worked great with the Google Camera app. The
button works great up to about 30 feet away. Great for selfie shots, or group
photos.

Each of the devices paired with my phone with absolutely no
issues. They appear to got o sleep when not being used, which I am sure will
add to the buttons long battery life.

PROS:
- Each device is very well made. Quality construction.
- Long battery life. Replaceable batteries.
- 3 Mounting options.
- Easy to pair.
- They each do a specific task well.

CONS:
- These are for very specific "uses".  (Which is not really a "con").

Satechi sent me these buttons for testing and evaluation in
exchange for a fair and unbiased review, which I provided.
