Aukey Monopod Selfie Stick Review

This selfie stick from Aukey is much nicer than the standard monopods that have flooded the market, including your local Walgreens.

Mot other selfie stick out there are the ones I refer to as "antenna" type monopods. You have seen them.... you extend what looks like a car antenna, and you phone wobbles around the end of this.

This monopod from Aukey is different. This one extends and locks into place by twist the rods slightly to the left. Because you are locking each piece it is much more sturdy, and less prone to shakiness.

The is also a "wired" selfie stick. You plug in an audio connector to the phones audio input. Now, when you hit the shutter button on your phone in your cameras app, you will be happily snapping pictures! To me, this is much easier and more reliable than using a Bluetooth controlled shutter release. You don't have to worry about dead batteries and pairing issues with a wired setup.

The bracket that holds the phone to the selfie stick is very solid, and holds the phone very firmly. It was easy to mount my phone into the bracket. You then screw the bracket onto the tripod screw.

The handle is well padded, and there is an additional screw input in the bottom of the handle, so you can mount your monopod onto a tripod if you wish.

If you are thinking of getting a selfie stick...spend a few extra bucks, and get one of these!
