Merit Sweatproof Bluetooth 4.1 Headset with Dual Mic and AptX Review

I have reviewed several Merit waterproof phone cases the last few months. But they have decided to branch out to the very competitive Bluetooth sports headphone market. And they did a really good job on their first try out.

PRICE: $27.99

They managed to get a ton of functionality into these little Bluetooth headphones, included the newest version of Bluetooth 4.1. This is important because it helps with better sound transfer (new codec), and provides for better loss-less sound.

These headphones are very light, but feel very well built.  They do not feel cheap. I like that they placed the buttons on the earpiece itself, and not built in-line with the cord. It makes controlling the headphones much easier. Built in voice prompts also help with the control. Pairing these headphones to your mobile device is quick and painless.

In addition to everything else that this headphone has is NFC (Near Field Communication). This is a good asset to have with newer Android phones. It gives you the ability to just tap the headset against your phone, and it can do a few pre-programmed functions like start Spotify, and set the volume to a certain level. Good to have stuff.

Sound quality is very good. Very crisp and clear, and not tinny. The bass levels for a sports headset are good.

The package includes a Micro USB charging cable, additional ear pads/cushions, and a few additional little ear "wings" that help keep the earphones in place.
