This HDD enclosure from Inateck makes a really nice first impression...as the body is all aluminum! It feels great in the hand, and looks just as impressive.



This kit includes everything yo need to get up and running with a portable external hard drive. Many people have old laptops, or desktops sitting around, and have realized that they could re-purpose their old hard drives into portable storage solutions very easily with enclosures like the one here from Inatek.



This enclosure will take a 2.5" (laptop) or a 3.5" (desktop) SATA hard drive. The box has some additional mounting screws for when you install your hard drive into the box. Also, the front of the box needs two screws to keep it closed. The box also has a 12v power supply to run this, as well as the USB 3 cable needed to transfer data.



Setup was really easy. It takes about 5 minutes to slip in the hard drive, screw in the few screws (screw driver is included as well), attach the cables, and plug it into your computer. My Windows 7 machine detected the new drive immediately, and I was able to access it within a few seconds.



You can use up to a 6TB HDD in this, mine was only 500GB. But it is still handy to have all that extra space I can hot swap between computers.
